Regular Season Round 8: Skjetten - Ridzene 39-87

Everything went according to plan when twenty eighth ranked LatvianRidzene (3-1) outplayed on the road 43th ranked Norwegian Skjetten (1-3) 87-39 on Friday. The game without a history. Ridzene led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Skjetten to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Ridzene forced 37 Skjetten turnovers and outrebounded them 50-34 including a 27-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ridzene made 8 blocks. The winners were led by Ernests Vezitis who scored that evening 22 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals and Raivo Indans supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ridzene players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by Filip Flage did not help to save the game for Skjetten . Rudy Gundersen added 6 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Ridzene moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with 13 other teams. Loser Skjetten keeps the 43th position with three games lost. They share it with 10 other teams.
